What is coaching?

 

​Coaching is a collaborative and transformative process that helps individuals unlock their potential, overcome personal obstacles, and achieve their desired goals. A coach serves as a trusted guide, providing support, guidance, and accountability along the journey. Through deep listening, insightful questioning, and personalized strategies, coaching empowers individuals to gain clarity, make informed decisions, and take action towards their aspirations. Coaching focuses on the present and future, helping clients identify their strengths, explore new perspectives, and develop actionable plans to create positive change in their lives. It is a dynamic and empowering relationship that encourages growth, self-discovery, and personal development. Through coaching, individuals gain greater self-awareness, build resilience, and cultivate the skills and mindset needed to navigate challenges, overcome obstacles, and thrive in various aspects of life.

The "Gold Standard" for ADHD Management 

A multimodal approach is considered the "Gold Standard" when it comes to ADHD management. This means using several methods at once. This treatment approach focuses on the whole person, rather than specific symptoms. It involves several different practitioners and various evidence-based approaches including primary care providers, psychiatrists, therapists, occupational therapists, and coaches (like me!). The multimodal approach is meant to be as unique as the individual, using approaches and techniques that work for you, and setting aside what doesn't.

Coaching is a uniquely individualized method of ADHD management. We focus on what matters to you, not what we think should matter to you. This is extremely important when developing a sense of authenticity in the midst of neurodivergence. Don't want friends but do want a better sense of community? Sounds great. Want to be better about completing tasks but creating a schedule isn't high on your list. That's perfectly fine.

The point is that it's about you. 100% about your wants, needs, goals, and ambitions. You are the only one who has to experience your life. So, make it fit you.
